			 part-time students, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="HB0B7FCCA720A4058AC26938F787021ED" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Education for Jobs Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H461035B1C5164383A020922553DDB793"><enum>2.</enum><header>Student loan eligibility for mid-career part-time students</header>
			<subsection id="H80F8093C3C8D40DEB198E12FB4D6A27B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Student eligibility</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 484(b) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1091">20 U.S.C. 1091</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H738898D301AE469292F6E3B90B648130"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraph (5) as paragraph (6); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H8BA24B365A8A4120985C8AA9F36C3169"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after paragraph (4) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA92BD532AAAC4860B39A02DEDAEF72C6" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="H7D3DF2754D804B8BA7851BAF3E1DB199" indent="up1"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A student who—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H3F5AC0257ECF44FAB81A37F723C31447"><enum>(A)</enum><text>is carrying at least 3 credit hours or the equivalent coursework for the course of study that the
			 student is pursuing, as determined by the eligible institution,</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD8D50D7A68804FECA607554907D3C0F8"><enum>(B)</enum><text>is enrolled in a course of study necessary for enrollment in a program leading to a degree or
			 certificate, and</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HBFD753481C014E7FB7D2789566FAFDB3"><enum>(C)</enum><text>was employed on a full-time basis for not less than 10 years,</text></subparagraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="paragraph">shall be, notwithstanding paragraph (1) of subsection (a), eligible to apply for loans under part D
			 of this title.</continuation-text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H0D654E836DC9493CA28E3525CDD1540A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Annual and aggregate loan limits</header><text>Section 428(b)(1)(A) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1078">20 U.S.C. 1078(b)(1)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by
			 inserting <quote>or meets the requirements of section 484(b)(5)</quote> after <quote>institution)</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H4586A19DA5F242518471531657EF0F5E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Repayment period</header>
				<paragraph id="H1CC999E98493483FABA64CA15AC1BB42"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Stafford loans</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 428(b)(7)(A) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1078">20 U.S.C. 1078(b)(7)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by
			 inserting before the period at the end the following: <quote>or, in the case of a student described in section 484(b)(5), the day after 6 months after the date
			 such student ceases to meet the requirements of such section</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H369103AE421442289B5237A7FC2DBEF4"><enum>(2)</enum><header>PLUS loans</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 428B(d)(1)(B)(ii) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1078-2">20 U.S.C. 1078–2(d)(1)(B)(ii)</external-xref>) is
			 amended by inserting before the period at the end the following: <quote>or, in the case of a graduate or professional student borrower described in section 484(b)(5),
			 during the 6-month period beginning on the day after the date such student
			 ceases to meet the requirements of such section</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
