		<official-title>To amend the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 to provide requirements that must be
			 followed by the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection when carrying out
			 certain examinations.</official-title>

		<section id="H6EEEE4531E42470286E8D69CA69162F6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Bureau Examination Fairness Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF1BE5DB930374259BF09C3DAE4E20ECA"><enum>2.</enum><header>Examination requirements</header>
			<subsection id="H41D341CA544844B99760356AD8177861"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 is amended by inserting after section 1026 the
			 following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE8AF30F154B842DEAE6A1BF42254DDA7" style="OLC">
					<section id="H96357E1FAFC243BD954495AB5214FE9C"><enum>1026A.</enum><header>Examination requirements</header>
						<subsection id="H8FC569C9A2B34E829627DEEEEB57600E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Non-Inclusion of enforcement attorneys</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Bureau may not include enforcement attorneys when performing examinations pursuant to section
			 1024, 1025, or 1026.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="H571DCD511F5746419D616E295A9B44C1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Data requests</header><text>In any request for data from an entity supervised by the Bureau pursuant to section 1024, 1025, or
			 1026, the Bureau shall—</text>
							<paragraph id="H48A48E508201457386EC3F3DDDF8A502"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ensure that the different divisions of the Bureau coordinate with each other before the data is
			 requested;</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H24D2D50B0BC4478F94A3F248E317D87A"><enum>(2)</enum><text>accompany each request with a written statement of intended use for the data being requested;</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="HC2821B508CA8472FBF3ECF4FC6E05482"><enum>(3)</enum><text>use peer-reviewed data sampling based on limited data sets rather than requesting full data sets,
			 unless the Director determines, in writing, that requesting full data sets
			 is necessary; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="HAC46ED5BDC6E46569B9DECA8B2EE005F"><enum>(4)</enum><text>with respect to a data request with respect to which the Bureau anticipates the cost of complying
			 with such request will exceed $50,000 per company, provide the entity with
			 the written approval of the Director for such request.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA805528C3CCE445FB96F169CFC3F6A4B"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Examination time period</header><text>When respect to an examination conducted by the Bureau, the Bureau shall—</text>
							<paragraph id="HB0B2926027B14B4F997C3DF260E49AB4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>complete the examination field work and conduct an exit interview with the entity being examined
			 not later than the end of the 60-day period beginning on the date the
			 examination begins; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H1650242C5D944C19968A9EE746918BB1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>produce a report of examination or supervisory letter—</text>
								<subparagraph id="H3E5CA05A1BF14621A6B07A1510000A25"><enum>(A)</enum><text>not later than the end of the 120-day period beginning on the date the examination is completed; or</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HAE253AE2F84E4CC08CDB7E0410AB060E"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">if the Director authorizes an extension and provides a written justification for such extension,
			 not later than end of the 180-day period beginning on the date the
			 examination is completed.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H1A8A87359296435A8B22C4E53B06EF17"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Prohibition on concurrent examinations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Bureau may only perform one limited-scope examination of an entity at any one time.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HB20F4164B4804364AEBCF5D35C6FF2A0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The table of contents under section 1 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection
			 Act is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 1026 the
			 following:</text>
