		<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to ensure that all veterans are eligible to participate in
			 hospice care programs of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.</official-title>

		<section id="H1D1B0AC7988A49678A9AC4FECBBB540D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Care for our Heroes Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H1E75908081B346CFA687075246C6EC12" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Determination of eligibility for hospice care</header>
			<subsection id="H088AB8F335994F9EB0DF6665600456F9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/1710">Section 1710</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4C678E7BF8824D3AB75918544A401676" style="USC">
					<subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H315431EF9A5547A48CE73963CB836C99"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and in accordance with the priorities specified in
			 section 1705(a) of this title, each veteran is eligible to participate in
			 a hospice program (or a similar program) conducted by the Secretary,
			 regardless of—</text>
						<paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7930AEBC2C364322BF4537D44A4E6FAA"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the net worth or income of the veteran, spouse of the veteran, or child of the veteran; or</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H26AE0A758885424BBEB626BF70636434"><enum>(2)</enum><text>whether the Secretary has otherwise furnished to the veteran any benefit under the laws
			 administered by the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" id="H49DEC57B0AA94FEFAAA0330204B907C2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to a veteran who seeks to participate
			 in a hospice program (or similar program) conducted by the Secretary of
			 Veterans Affairs on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
