		<section id="H8A3D018A2E2C4B15907BAE609477F85B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Jumpstarting Occupational-learning and Entrepreneurship Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote>JOE Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HEA226C31488E4839870B6DDE5D719C57"><enum>2.</enum><header>Exemption of school-based enterprises from nutrition standards</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 10(b)(1) of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1779">42 U.S.C. 1779(b)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H3E870B88AA3F45C19E4FACF83CC7546F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H8D139D8A8F1543F7A3EFFC87863EE168"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of clause (i);</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HCA9FBC94F1B9448F8638132BF55FDD75"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end of clause (ii)(IV) and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6335BC120D6545ACA27F195D91210E48"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB63D0893F71146D49FFB50BC0D1DF698" style="OLC">
						<clause id="H7756132543DA4223BFEE7E5FBA328A5F"><enum>(iii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">exempt from such nutrition standards school-based enterprises managed as part of a school’s
			 curriculum.</text></clause><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H89CBA682D3974A6AB1FF4EA17D70D593"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H19772BD035914FDC87EBD8CDD8C5A499" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="H65A6EA57AC774DB1B1E30AAB65278C64"><enum>(E)</enum><header>School-based enterprise defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this subsection, the term <term>school-based enterprise</term> means an entrepreneurial operation in a school setting that—</text>
						<clause id="H2150ED77744E460C96AA01A0D26D5CAA"><enum>(i)</enum><text>provides goods or services to meet the needs of the market;</text>
						</clause><clause id="HB6D88288F907410390FAD72EC032D3E9"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>is managed and operated by students enrolled in the school as a hands-on learning laboratory;</text>
						</clause><clause id="H44B60C17AA404FCEB2DAAABBD51B27A7"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>provides realistic and practical learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction;</text>
						</clause><clause id="HF0C4026D14D9410ABC646B580D5F81A7"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>may sell to consumers through a permanent location, a mobile kiosk, or through Internet marketing;
			 and</text>
						</clause><clause id="H208F40B633F64121A2559C73F648926E"><enum>(v)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">may sell products such as food and beverage items, or provide services such as event catering.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
