		<official-title>To amend title 49, United States Code, to provide for the inspection of pipeline facilities that
			 are transferred by sale and pipeline facilities that are abandoned, and
			 for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="HA519C6877A8845F787D5F14302B91A52" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Pipeline Inspection Enforcement Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H1F90DEE4FE684302A8117E7F3DD55CE4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Pipeline inspections</header>
			<subsection id="HB3EA12D5977742FE8CD2069F5EEFF988"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/49/60108">Section 60108</external-xref> of title 49, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFCCE03BF43FB4FF6A36F83A0424A5222" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H5C0C10971BF44E00A2C758F184AFF25F"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Inspection of transferred pipeline facilities</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With respect to a pipeline facility that is transferred by sale, the Secretary shall require by
			 regulation that—</text>
						<paragraph id="H952873627B8849F5882CCE21A81CF0C3"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">not later than 180 days after the date of the sale, the person purchasing the facility conduct an
			 inspection of the facility to confirm the status of any pipeline listed as
			 active or abandoned; and</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="H422FA4B10C4C413DA1DBD0BD58020A2F"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the regulatory authority responsible for inspections of the facility ensure that the inspection
			 described in paragraph (1) is conducted.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H7BAE9B7D743E4181A4D3558ABCCCC019"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Inspection of abandoned pipeline facilities</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With respect to a pipeline facility that newly lists a pipeline as abandoned, the Secretary shall
			 require by regulation that the regulatory authority responsible for
			 inspections of the facility, together with the person owning or operating
			 the facility, conduct an inspection of the facility to confirm the status
			 of the pipeline as abandoned.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H89BC65DBA9174122A50BF9CF18230717"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to a pipeline facility that is transferred or
			 listed as abandoned after the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
