		<section id="H7A3C296FD8A6405989B2E01AD01E2EBC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Guarantee Housing for Terminally Ill Veterans Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H618020EF618F45EC8A9B94A13A4C7404" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Specially adapted housing assistance for individuals with terminal illnesses</header>
			<subsection id="H261A235264E54FF4B8F87B02A9D71B92"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Individuals with terminal illnesses</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/21">Chapter 21</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 section:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H36A7B317D61D4EF686771A90E84A9F14" style="USC">
					<section id="H6105A4497C424597B1354138675D4DBE"><enum>2110.</enum><header>Specially adapted housing assistance for individuals with terminal illnesses</header>
						<subsection id="H5623600D3F2045D4AAE2C936C7A9B56E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Priority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In providing assistance under this chapter (not including section 2108), the Secretary shall give
			 priority to an individual who is—</text>
							<paragraph id="H9737D83A69484BB0B17B7CD4E142248C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>eligible for such assistance; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="HC519E3566D7A4550BF963C830044E1A2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>diagnosed with a terminal illness.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><subsection display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9D9976304AF54761968C454073DE2A17"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reimbursement</header>
							<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H19A52B0498C34A6B8E1BB882CDA10F9B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>If a veteran diagnosed with a terminal illness is eligible for assistance under subsection (a) or
			 (b) of section 2101 of this title or section 2102A and applies for, and
			 has not yet received, such assistance, the Secretary shall reimburse the
			 veteran for costs relating to specially adapted housing if—</text>
								<subparagraph id="HDF728CB84B024C38A73FEE184546CF0A" indent="up1"><enum>(A)</enum><text>such costs are for acquisitions or adaptions that the veteran is eligible for under such
			 assistance;</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H083CC912C6CC42FBB95D41D33426FCC5" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>the veteran paid such costs after applying for such assistance; and</text>
								</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFA8F26D38DD74207B70A116C56C28BF8" indent="up1"><enum>(C)</enum><text>such reimbursement does not exceed the amount of such assistance for which the veteran is eligible,
			 in accordance with section 2102.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HBA66AF9229E044A0AD0C908CCE95EE1D" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>A reimbursement by the Secretary under paragraph (1) shall be treated as a grant for assistance
			 under this chapter.</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H98B89AABC4FD45FB92CA1281133507AB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding after the item relating
			 to section 2109 the following:</text>
