		<official-title>To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to ensure equal access of Medicare beneficiaries to
			 community pharmacies in underserved areas as network pharmacies under
			 Medicare prescription drug coverage, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H846635C0ABAC49DA9C2AB613BA1CC9E3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Ensuring Seniors Access to Local Pharmacies Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H2A8B8A00BB6B49A5A52188AE8EF6ED33"><enum>2.</enum><header>Allowing any willing pharmacy serving an underserved area to become a network pharmacy under
			 Medicare prescription drug coverage</header>
			<subsection id="H03E8EF2F1CB2489CA8CA3F200EEB012A"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1860D–4(b)(1)(B) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395w-104">42 U.S.C. 1395w–104(b)(1)(B)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H438FEC66E4D0443FAD2940C201C6E485"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">Discounts allowed for network </header-in-text><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">pharmacies.</header-in-text>—For</quote> and inserting the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HF378C7BAC7B34DD78F815577C3802FCE" style="OLC"><text><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">Discounts allowed for network </header-in-text><header-in-text level="subparagraph" style="OLC">pharmacies.</header-in-text>—</text><clause id="H873E626EE7D84224A2383795550E982D"><enum>(i)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For</text></clause><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2077F556F4CB46A1866030747194DE5C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new clause:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H280958E7A2AC4585965960D6807A6A8C" style="OLC">
						<clause id="H05D2441E21C049128B1F685D63F6A2FB"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>Inclusion of pharmacies located in underserved areas in networks</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the case of a prescription drug plan that has, in its network of pharmacies, one or more
			 pharmacies located in a health professional shortage area (as defined in
			 section 332(a)(1)(A) of the Public Health Service Act), in a medically
			 underserved area (according to a designation under section 330(b)(3)(A) of
			 the Public Health Service Act), or among a medically underserved
			 population (as defined in such section 330(b)(3)(A) of such Act), and that
			 provides a reduction in coinsurance or copayments described in clause (i)
			 for covered part D drugs dispensed through such pharmacies, such plan
			 shall extend to any pharmacy located in such area or among such population
			 the option to be an in-network pharmacy with respect to such plan under
			 terms and conditions (including the reductions described in clause (i))
			 comparable to those the plan has agreed upon with other in-network
			 pharmacies located in such area or among such population.</text></clause><after-quoted-block>. </after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H1D1A0FDB89704AA695592F83F77F56C9"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by this section shall apply to plan years beginning on or after January 1,
			 2016.</text>
