		<section id="H92BC3970462245B78E1515FE25464920" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Report and briefing to Congress explaining the procurement and inspection process for armored
			 vehicles to transport civilian employees of the Department of Defense</header>
			<subsection id="HBBF9561B66644E138426C8DEE944E4C7"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Sense of congress</header><text>It is the sense of Congress that—</text>
				<paragraph id="HE70580CCD4A44D69A7ED982DBB9504A9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>civilian employees of the Department of Defense should be provided all reasonable protection while
			 in hostile foreign areas, and that protection should include adequate
			 armored vehicle transportation; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HC080DACABB464CD4A9876D06681CDD78"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to ensure adequate protection, the Department of Defense should employ stringent, uniform standards
			 while procuring armored vehicles for civilians to be used overseas as well
			 as stringent standards for inspection upon delivery.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H673CFFDDB75542CD9E67F509342D91C2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report required</header><text>Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary, in consultation
			 with the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and
			 Logistics, shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report
			 on the Department’s policies for procuring and inspecting armored vehicles
			 for transporting civilian employees. Such report should include the
			 following:</text>
				<paragraph id="H98F1AC23A0AF4FE697B394024AF57700"><enum>(1)</enum><text>An explanation of what the Department’s current policies are for procuring and inspecting armored
			 vehicles for transporting civilians through hostile or potentially hostile
			 territory.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9944404418CD4E6DB659C274E8B91FC6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>A comparison of the policies outlined in paragraph (1) with other departments, and specifically the
			 Department of State.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H574974722D2C4916BC798C539CBA7D99"><enum>(3)</enum><text>An evaluation by the Secretary to determine whether changes to the policies outlined in paragraph
			 (1) would be beneficial in enhancing safety for the civilians described in
			 paragraph (1).</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H696D63D7148B4AC08C569855742809DD"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Any other matters the Secretary determines appropriate.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H50BBF6538AB44BF3BD8C33E9E0B76B77"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Briefing required</header><text>Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary, in consultation
			 with the Under Secretary of Defense of Acquisition, Technology, and
			 Logistics, shall provide to the congressional defense committees a
			 detailed briefing on the report required in subsection (b).</text>
