		<section id="H2E4654153476426793E01F1177466781" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Condition</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In the event that a law extending title IV of the Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008 (Public Law
			 110–252; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/3304">26 U.S.C. 3304</external-xref>) is enacted on or after the date of enactment of
			 this Act, then, effective with respect to emergency unemployment
			 compensation payable for each week beginning on or after such date of
			 enactment or, if later, the effective date of the extension (the first
			 such week, in the case of any individual, to be referred to as the
			 individual’s <quote>initial post-extension week</quote>), section 2 shall apply.</text>
		</section><section id="H58D239A7E19C42EE9823CA7948A81F5C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reduction</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Notwithstanding any provision of title IV of the Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2008, the amount
			 of emergency unemployment compensation payable to any individual under
			 such title shall—</text>
			<paragraph id="HC70B0474806847778E6984ED349A40FE"><enum>(1)</enum><text>for the first week of unemployment following the initial post-extension week described in section
			 1, be equal to—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H710B99DB417B4590AAB49EB0E8AD332A"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the amount that would otherwise be payable,</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDC102F2D7A5F42D1913486CAD107687B"><enum>(B)</enum><text>reduced by 5 percent; and</text>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HC848624938294A94B9D7BDE7C2063E45"><enum>(2)</enum><text>for each week of unemployment subsequent to the week of unemployment to which paragraph (1)
			 applies, be equal to—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H511424E7857C4F18927E8853A8E63389"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the amount that would otherwise be payable,</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H0D7F74C3004F4F71A65D278F5A1473B6"><enum>(B)</enum><text>reduced by—</text>
					<clause id="H35557BC3BB12406C8FAB4A3F3D052F99"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the percentage reduction applicable under this section to the individual’s preceding week of
			 unemployment,</text>
					</clause><clause id="H4297506BF41E49318341562201271C3A"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>increased by 5 percentage points,</text></clause><continuation-text continuation-text-level="subparagraph">but not below zero.</continuation-text></subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body>
