<official-title display="yes">To prohibit assistance provided under the program of block grants to States for temporary assistance for needy families from being accessed through the use of an electronic benefit transfer card at any store that offers marijuana for sale.</official-title>

<section id="HAC7319F76D854EA79344F640F29FF364" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Preserving Welfare for Needs Not Weed Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section>
<section id="HF8425BCF1CF94AD2B687768F1EBC521C" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on use of electronic benefit transfer card to access TANF assistance at any store that offers marijuana for sale</header> 
<subsection id="HE55A680B2B5C4F4AAD919F10AFEED36F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 408(a)(12)(A) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/608">42 U.S.C. 608(a)(12)(A)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HF14B3258DE7940E08B43E49F81426B7B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end of clause (ii);</text> </paragraph>
<paragraph id="H75D54891ED0E474391607D6D362F220D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end of clause (iii) and inserting <quote>; or</quote>; and</text> </paragraph>
<paragraph id="H12892B7023FC402D91F9742DB6E22E01"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<clause id="HE794770B8E3748E3AAD343591D273D53"><enum>(iv)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any establishment that offers marihuana (as defined in section 102(16) of the Controlled Substances Act) for sale.</text></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H362445284A4248348A9D6749D120E827"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text> </subsection></section>
