		<official-title>To amend title 18, United States Code, to ensure that juveniles adjudicated in Federal delinquency
			 proceedings are not subject to solitary confinement while committed to
			 juvenile facilities.</official-title>

		<section id="HFD720392D58A449FAC01F87D017C3F33" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting Youth from Solitary Confinement Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC4F921FB0C1544C3AE7AA2E27A773231"><enum>2.</enum><header>Juveniles adjudicated in Federal delinquency proceedings not subject to solitary confinement while
			 committed to juvenile facilities</header>
		</section><section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HC526BEAC061E48DCB70FCCA55BBD5130" section-type="undesignated-section"><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/5039">Section 5039</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H76C49C7280DF4B9C8B3AB10E2BE4ADAB"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding <quote>No juvenile in Federal custody held in juvenile facilities may be subject to solitary confinement.</quote> at the end of the second undesignated paragraph; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB6B8D71756E048DBB762133F0BB9A038"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after the second undesignated paragraph the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H0F21F4BF213F466DAB0922DFC0490877" style="OLC"><list level="subsection"><list-item>Not later than 180 days after the end of each fiscal year, the Director of the Board of Prisons
			 shall submit to the President and Congress a report with respect to the
			 preceding fiscal year. The report shall contain a detailed summary and
			 analysis of the most recent data regarding the rate at which juveniles are
			 subject to solitary confinement and the trends demonstrated by the data
			 described in the next sentence. The data referred to in the preceding
			 sentence are, for each juvenile who was subject to solitary confinement
			 during the period to which the report pertains, the types of offenses for
			 which the juvenile is incarcerated, the race, gender, and age of the
			 juvenile, how many hours the juvenile was subject to solitary confinement;
			 and the purpose for the solitary confinement.</list-item></list><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
