R. 3938</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20140128">January 28, 2014</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000546">Mr. Graves of Missouri</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="T000459">Mr. Terry</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HPW00">Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To direct the Secretary of Transportation to designate natural gas fueling corridors in the United States for long haul truck traffic, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H7AF4FB3E435A43C39AE48EF66E1D3728" style="OLC"><section id="H76F2B39AECF14AECAF718313CC299B6C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Designation of natural gas fueling corridors</header><subsection id="H1EB2FE30BB784224B63E29B528D569FB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Transportation, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy and affected States, shall designate natural gas fueling corridors in the United States for long haul truck traffic.</text></subsection><subsection id="H7268129241D542C4BB065D5DCDA440DC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Designation process</header><text>In designating natural gas fueling corridors under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text><paragraph id="H5A5498BF2C574C57A5D66FE01F386BC2"><enum>(1)</enum><text>seek to establish an interconnection of natural gas fueling stations across the United States that will serve the highest possible volume of long haul truck traffic;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HFC23E598E4594C1F9EA9CC39D6EDEF74"><enum>(2)</enum><text>take into consideration the location of existing natural gas fueling stations, with the goal of having natural gas fueling stations located not greater than 200 miles apart in such corridors; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H0E06A8C2393E494FAB83302F1EB59292"><enum>(3)</enum><text>provide public notice and an opportunity for comment.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H31A8086FD29740208894CE228C26E0EB"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report to Congress</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report containing a description of the natural gas fueling corridors designated under subsection (a), together with an explanation for the selection of the corridors.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
