R. 3905</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20140116">January 16, 2014</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="B001281">Mrs. Beatty</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HED00">Education and the Workforce</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To improve the response to missing children and victims of child sex trafficking.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HE1C14020A92849989F71FEAC5EF5E0F0" style="OLC"><section id="H314D0AAB2F2F4280A978D3089CCABAA8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Response to missing children and victims of child sex trafficking</header><subsection id="H28FA67D8BEBB4BFC81E3292060601FDE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Missing Children's Assistance Act</header><text>Section 404(b)(1)(P)(iii) of the Missing Children's Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5773">42 U.S.C. 5773(b)(1)(P)(iii)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>child prostitution</quote> and inserting <quote>child sex trafficking</quote>.</text></subsection><subsection id="HFE2B737C46254AE1951D4CD16409555D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Crime Control Act of 1990</header><text>Section 3702 of the Crime Control Act of 1990 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5780">42 U.S.C. 5780</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="HC779BFEC1BC140D1ACCC654CD334E67A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HE754A2CCC3C241AAA3B9A8D439A0AA4E"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (3)—</text><subparagraph id="H86869B584B464D1DBDC453190D9DCE79"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by redesignating subparagraphs (B) and (C) as subparagraphs (C) and (D), respectively; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA67DB14DEF144973B9490964516DE75F"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting after subparagraph (A) the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF674FECE639B4C8FA1DAF92341AD8C3C" style="OLC"><subparagraph id="HD3D7E144C0F449B5935047D66B34FDC1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>a recent photograph of the child, if available;</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HA94D7B8D9AAD4A7E936EBF789451EE7C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in paragraph (4)—</text><subparagraph id="H08CB0CA03CCF43389AFF638FCDF3DF11"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>60 days</quote> and inserting <quote>30 days</quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD7B73EB349C042A78109A5FA8FCEF04D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H375A33A9279642BB882B28628B848202"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C)—</text><clause id="HF4D8398F1DE04FC18B5983131F0AC9FB"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>State and local child welfare systems and</quote> before <quote>the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children</quote>; and</text></clause><clause id="H657A86EC96294EF99456EB77A841978E"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HBFEA70D28F564C2D8735FCC42FD5A383"><enum>(D)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H920A8C857AD04CE4BCDB5C27FE9A3247" style="OLC"><subparagraph id="H57995B016A9242469BF1D6AFDAD4B787"><enum>(D)</enum><text>grant permission to the National Crime Information Center Terminal Contractor for the State to update the missing person record in the National Crime Information Center computer networks with additional information learned during the investigation relating to the missing person.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
