national toll-free number, national media campaign, and grant program,
and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Poison Center Network Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id63813a6499e841eeab5c81075e7ad5f1"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reauthorization
			 of poison control centers national toll-free number</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1271 of the
			 Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/300d-71">42 U.S.C. 300d–71</external-xref>) is amended by striking subsection
			 (b) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id29700B394DB64DDD8CB8756ADFADE42D" style="OLC"><subsection id="id456d36c858b74e59b442c3922d59af9a"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Authorization
				of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry
				out this section, $700,000 for each of fiscal years 2015 through 2019 for the
				maintenance of the nationwide toll free phone number under subsection
				(a).</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section><section id="id98d1f10a2f5940b6a4cf3c2ceb559da6"><enum>3.</enum><header>Reauthorization
			 of nationwide media campaign to promote poison control center
			 utilization</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1272 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C.
			 300d–72) is amended by striking
			 subsection (d) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id817EAF5116BD4ACC8F5691E29F59279B" style="OLC"><subsection id="id2e59bdb0a827404d9bae6ff17fe2fc0a"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization
				of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry
				out this section, $800,000 for each of fiscal years 2015 through
				2019.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section><section id="id07827e7b1c4649c88a996293f372c769"><enum>4.</enum><header>Reauthorization
			 of the poison control center grant program</header><subsection id="id3259d652e89f496ba43cef29d0fc57a6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 1273 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C.
			 300d–73) is  amended—</text><paragraph id="id336F1501A2D846828477A5F5D77ED529"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (a)—</text><subparagraph id="id2D89960D42F4428C9F8AD48A878872D8"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>certified</quote> and inserting <quote>accredited</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="idBE9B9CF4F1F140509AC5EC9B234D04DA"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>certification</quote> and inserting <quote>accreditation</quote>;</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id0D166B900CB048A2A36F1FE6B8655BBC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (b)—</text><subparagraph id="idBB2E73BA3C794956B1DE30BA2B8C5F03"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in paragraph (1),
			 by striking <quote>establish</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>research, establish, implement</quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id1F60E934AF8B40EE9D3C1AA32726F06E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 paragraphs (4) through (7) as paragraphs (5) through (8);</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id570DA357C0DD4C059C2F57CF782787C2"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by inserting
			 after paragraph (3), the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idFC673FC78DDB4EEDB7A469F79283273F" style="OLC"><paragraph id="ide6453813db3c4547bf2f2d28fdfb028c"><enum>(4)</enum><text>to research,
				improve, and enhance the communications and response capability and capacity of
				the nation’s network of poison control centers to facilitate increased access
				to the Centers through the integration and modernization of the current poison
				control centers communications and data system, including enhancing the
				network’s telephony, Internet, data and social networking
				technologies;</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id690361E6E11A4E92B1798477F6549A2C"><enum>(D)</enum><text>in paragraph (6)
			 (as so redesignated), by striking <quote>paragraph (4)</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>paragraph (5)</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id2E1B30E18FC447A0A7D54AD3BE8DB797"><enum>(E)</enum><text>in paragraph (8)
			 (as so redesignated), by striking <quote>and respond</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>and Internet communications, and to sustain and enhance the poison
			 control center’s network capability to respond</quote>;</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idCFDDC9B09385470C8A85289E16C76612"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (c)—</text><subparagraph id="idCB855A06A67C4516BED49CE205816F6B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the subsection
			 heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Certification</header-in-text></quote> and inserting
			 <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Accreditation</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id84373F20267E49F09549331AF5C5B1D4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>certified</quote> each place that such term appears and inserting
			 <quote>accredited</quote>; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="idA975102104884066A0E9EA490E5A3375"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>certification</quote> each place that such term appears and inserting
			 <quote>accreditation</quote>;</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idE71E1DF9000F4018A5EA6AA005F043DA"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (d)—</text><subparagraph id="idA0DF14B494C148E9A7DDCF40E7EDD259"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the subsection
			 heading, by striking <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Certification</header-in-text></quote> and inserting
			 <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Accreditation</header-in-text></quote>;</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id552E55CB817C4D128CBF8E01A076F0EC"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in paragraph
			 (1)—</text><clause id="id057866FCC5AA4576B866FCCAF00CDB79"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>the certification</quote> and inserting <quote>the
			 accreditation</quote>;</text></clause><clause id="idB617F66F5D214FF1B744665AAC6AE2F3"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>a noncertified</quote> and inserting <quote>a
			 nonaccredited</quote>; and</text></clause><clause id="idD532B0369B81481C9A6E79D95FDB21CE"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>a certification</quote> and inserting <quote>an accreditation</quote>;
			 and</text></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="id45BE0A9DCD024959A45A3B7A750E5C33"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in paragraph (3)—</text><clause commented="no" id="idA57AC4470BA04DD6A3393BF63507EA74"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by striking the last sentence; and</text></clause><clause commented="no" id="id0C8468F37E8F4CB09D89F0A1F9682368"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by striking <quote>exceed 5 years.</quote> and inserting the following “exceed—</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id02E0A110093247AF8F398018F0154A41" style="OLC"><subparagraph commented="no" id="idF9B7F1A645A9440ABBD913C93D1F4CD9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>5 years; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" id="id0C90FABAF00E4A289C5594E1BE142EAC"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in the case of a non-accredited poison control center operating pursuant to a waiver under this subsection as of October 1, 2014, 6 years.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></clause></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idCF9BB860D37F4842A4547BF85738EF0C"><enum>(5)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (f), by striking <quote>for activities of the center</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>for its activities</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id0FD8104BF0634B6CA39B425A5DFA28EA"><enum>(6)</enum><text>by striking
			 subsection (g) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idFBD54EA2947C4FB6941A5DC2CAF7AE73" style="OLC"><subsection id="id01306a6bc99f45219da2b5baf16ac1c4"><enum>(g)</enum><header>Authorization
				of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry
				out this section, $28,600,000 for each of fiscal years 2015 through 2019.
				The Secretary may utilize an amount not to exceed 6 percent of the amount
				appropriated under this preceding sentence in each fiscal year for
				coordination, dissemination, technical assistance, program evaluation, data
				activities, and other program administration functions, which are determined by
				the Secretary to be appropriate for carrying out the program under this
				section.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id1221fed3805c4764836d0ab7ac68170c"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on
			 the date of the enactment of this Act and shall apply to grants made on or
			 after October 1, 2014.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
