<distribution-code display="yes">II</distribution-code><calendar>Calendar No. 242</calendar><congress>113th CONGRESS</congress><session>1st Session</session><legis-num>S. 1661</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20131107">November 7, 2013</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S355">Mr. Cruz</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="S293">Mr. Graham</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S236">Mr. Inhofe</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was read the first time</action-desc></action><action><action-date>November 12, 2013</action-date><action-desc>Read the second time and placed on the calendar</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To require the Secretary of State to offer rewards of up to $5,000,000 for information regarding the attacks on the United States diplomatic mission at Benghazi, Libya that began on September 11, 2012.</official-title></form><legis-body><section id="idE0598937C8E34EDEAB2D32111C99CA14" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Rewards authorized</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In accordance with the Rewards for Justice program authorized under section 36(b) of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2708">22 U.S.C. 2708(b)</external-xref>), the Secretary of State shall offer a reward of not more than $5,000,000 to individuals who furnish information—</text><paragraph id="idB638A7811C734A4F819FEBE137EB8E17"><enum>(1)</enum><text>regarding the attacks on the United States diplomatic mission at Benghazi, Libya that began on September 11, 2012; or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id8EC0BFEAC4C54EE889DB211DE04FB460"><enum>(2)</enum><text>leading to the capture of an individual who committed, conspired to commit, attempted to commit, or aided in the commission of the attacks described in paragraph (1).</text></paragraph></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>November 12, 2013</action-date><action-desc>Read the second time and placed on the calendar</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
