		<official-title>To enhance taxpayer accountability at public
		  transportation agencies.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Public Transportation
			 Accountability Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id1C3631D7524C430D9F04B965CE63DEBD"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition</header>
			<subsection id="id697EEE5601124553A65064BBD65F5EDA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
			 this section:</text>
				<paragraph id="id0B6729E182744767B2534B3B3BAAA84A"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Annual
			 compensation</header><text>The term <term>annual compensation</term> means all
			 amounts paid to an individual during a calendar year, including—</text>
					<subparagraph id="id2C9187B7A6A24DCC9CD716FFE33B0D64"><enum>(A)</enum><text>salary;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idFDE27A3C18FB4BEB88FA4881647C4804"><enum>(B)</enum><text>amounts paid in
			 accordance with a severance agreement.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id2C0A97D4879544659B698D96AE7F6550"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Public
			 transportation agency</header><text>The term <term>public transportation
			 agency</term> has the meaning given the term in section 1402 of the National
			 Transit Systems Security Act of 2007 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/1131">6 U.S.C. 1131</external-xref>).</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id811CCD31CD5F49A09B1DC37DBA6B4843"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law,
			 as a condition on the receipt of Federal funds by any public transportation
			 agency, the public transportation agency shall be prohibited from providing
			 annual compensation to the chief executive, or any other officer or employee,
			 of the public transportation agency in an amount that is in excess of the
			 annual compensation of the President of the United States as described in
			 <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/3/102">section 102</external-xref> of title 3, United States Code.</text>
