		<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to make
		  improvements to support facilities for National Historic Sites operated by the
		  National Park Service, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H661DBBA42BA74945B8C4A0551BF4C20E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Improvement, operation, and
			 use of support facilities</header>
			<subsection id="H1FCD9046BB074A17B1D03EA13C1CBD60"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Improvement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Interior, acting
			 through the Director of the National Park Service (referred to in this Act as
			 the <quote>Secretary</quote>), may make improvements to a support facility,
			 including a visitor center, for a National Historic Site operated by the
			 National Park Service if the project—</text>
				<paragraph id="H7061B707380349CB9BD81B6CE4906024"><enum>(1)</enum><text>is conducted using
			 amounts included in the budget of the National Park Service in effect on the
			 date on which the project is authorized;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9F8A94D3068741EF8A0D0F1FB6097D2D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>is subject to a 50
			 percent non-Federal cost-sharing requirement; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HAE4C7B20CA634ECCBAAEF3FCA49C1928"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is conducted in an area in which the
			 National Park Service was authorized by law in effect before the date of
			 enactment of this Act to establish a support facility.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H9379F607DEDE4929A751A9316A6842AA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Operation and
			 use</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may operate
			 and use all or part of a support facility, including a visitor center, for a
			 National Historic Site operated by the National Park Service—</text>
				<paragraph id="HB6CA9B7A3FFE4B00B003CEFEC8F3D863"><enum>(1)</enum><text>to carry out
			 duties associated with operating and supporting the National Historic Site;
			 and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2FFDF3DB0BD34FE59FFBCC5DC2EA0440"><enum>(2)</enum><text>only in accordance
			 with an agreement between the Secretary and the unit of local government in
			 which the support facility is located.</text>
