		<official-title>To amend the Diplomatic Security Act to revise the
		  provisions relating to personnel recommendations of the Accountability Review
		  Board under such Act.</official-title>

		<section id="H22F4ADD7A909417C8EF0981C364582F0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Revision of provisions
			 relating to personnel recommendations of Accountability Review Board</header>
			<subsection id="H31AA7BD9ED4243A5BE49BDFF91D43307"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 304(c) of the
			 Diplomatic Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/4834">22 U.S.C. 4834(c)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H248D79D6BB20462BBA46396E8557D1DA"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the matter
			 preceding paragraph (1)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H546765F482FC4BA081DF412FF07322BA"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>Whenever</quote> and inserting <quote>If</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HBC96900FBDF845A7BD3313268EF0A8E7"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>has breached the duty of that individual</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>has engaged in misconduct or unsatisfactorily performed the duties of
			 employment of that individual, and such misconduct or unsatisfactory
			 performance has significantly contributed to the serious injury, loss of life,
			 or significant destruction of property, or the serious breach of security that
			 is the subject of the Board’s examination as described in subsection
			 (a)</quote>;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HEE6A358676EC46EF8A78D0D038ADA3A5"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2),
			 by striking <quote>finding</quote> each place it appears and inserting
			 <quote>findings</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2F94E217ADF6403EB6083C789B8C12EC"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in the matter
			 following paragraph (3)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H13C9B2FF2A0A4241A826F92AC0AC9F88"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>has breached a duty of that individual</quote> and inserting <quote>has
			 unsatisfactorily performed the duties of employment of that individual</quote>;
			 and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDAC4D1DF82CD4A4E9D210C6CF8AC6C93"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>of employment</quote> after <quote>performance of the
			 duties</quote>.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCC9F40BA064A4A3D91E26F3675B55325"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with
			 respect to any case of an Accountability Review Board that is convened under
			 section 301 of the Diplomatic Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/4831">22 U.S.C. 4831</external-xref>) on or after the
			 date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
