		  to establish the style for amending laws.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" id="H60FFD7AE92374AC69F98606C4E4F73BA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Readable Legislation Act of
			 2013</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HE0765F5715434FB3B01950E240B05B1B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amending
			 laws</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/1/2">Chapter 2</external-xref> of title 1 of
			 the United States Code is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 section:</text>

				<section id="HF299EFC5E2874DDE8DB206E97D04E060"><enum>115.</enum><header>Amending
				laws</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">No Act shall be revised
				or amended by mere reference to it. Every bill or joint resolution which amends
				an existing section, subsection, or other subdivision of any Act shall set
				forth the section, subsection, or other subdivision sufficiently to enable the
				intent and effect of the bill or joint resolution to be clearly understood.
				Omissions and insertions proposed shall be shown by appropriate typographical
				devices.</text>

		</section><section id="HC7E031FA9113463DADB5ECCC1F036339"><enum>3.</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The table of
			 sections at the beginning of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/1/2">chapter 2</external-xref> of title 1 of the United States Code is
			 amended by adding after the item relating to section 114 the following new
			 item:</text>
