		<official-title>To amend title 11 of the United States Code to modify the
		  dischargeability of debts for certain educational payments and
		  loans.</official-title>

		<section id="H8693B4903A8C4D04B3FAE03B8BAE22CA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Private Student Loan Bankruptcy
			 Fairness Act of 2013</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HB81EA9414CF94DAE8601DD9909789235"><enum>2.</enum><header>Exceptions to
			 discharge</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 523(a)(8) of
			 title 11, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H11F4C069DC4F49EF9266A32F023A3730"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 subparagraph (B), and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB2B57682D6EA4D0AAD236317E34C5042"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (A)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="HEB194E721DC440078370BCD60C3F2C79"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in clause
			 (i)—</text>
					<clause id="H85D39376F3014273827C237FD24ED895"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>(i)</quote>, and</text>
					</clause><clause id="HC47CEAA933FB4033B69BC474566E0934"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by
			 inserting <quote>any program for which substantially all of the funds are
			 provided by a</quote> after <quote>unit or</quote>, and</text>
					</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H225B46F3E5F54D739F6347856A85F444"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in clause (ii)—</text>
					<clause id="HE85DED0E601F40F79106763139DDB692"><enum>(i)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>(ii)</quote> and inserting <quote>(B)</quote>, and</text>
					</clause><clause id="HC24BD77236B9475F9B9EB98C0C09F191"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>or</quote> at the
			 end.</text>
					</clause></subparagraph></paragraph></section><section id="H248FA16F47D2487A9F4A3EE920838D13"><enum>3.</enum><header>Effective date;
			 application of amendments</header>
			<subsection id="HE9DEDB4D78424DBC94EA29F925C41075"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>Except as provided in subsection (b), this Act and the
			 amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the date of the enactment of
			 this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HBD952C78305D45D79C5E2C40A203D267"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Application of
			 amendments</header><text>The amendments made by this Act shall apply only with
			 respect to cases commenced under title 11 of the United States Code on or after
			 the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
