R. 3798</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20131219">December 19, 2013</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="D000616">Mr. DesJarlais</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Energy and Commerce</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To repeal an annual adjustment of retired pay and retainer pay amounts for retired members of the Armed Forces under age 62, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HC4ACBD2AF7A9417497F8F974E6D20264" style="OLC"><section id="H877F353F1FF14F8BB6207C1B263427A7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Repeal of annual adjustment of retired pay and retainer pay amounts for retired members of the Armed Forces under age 62</header><subsection id="H6B3C99A9EE3943A1BF10916CFE7F560F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Repeal</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 403 of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013 is hereby repealed, and the provisions of law amended by such section are restored as if such section had never been enacted.</text></subsection><subsection id="H11A34F62EE8A475E855D91DAAC42784A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Offset</header><text>Section 4002(b) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/300u-11">42 U.S.C. 300u–11(b)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph id="H8187D2E3653544C49BE904A1C3366CDF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>2017</quote> and inserting <quote>2014</quote>;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HBFAE824047E7442F891FE1ED1B99CA54"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating paragraph (5) as paragraph (7);</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H816CBC307AA84E8AB8A1FCE0094A1722"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by striking paragraphs (3) and (4) and inserting the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HEC4E0A4EA5614135BBF0A4FE0F88EA7D" style="OLC"><paragraph id="HC7B17B005E9C4B6A90A1568F83128062"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">for each of fiscal years 2015 through 2017, $0;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H865CD4F0EEDC47A3B1281CA70AF6C218"><enum>(4)</enum><text>for each of fiscal years 2018 and 2019, $750,000,000;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H7238289964F042FBACFC44AD8B7C8333"><enum>(5)</enum><text>for each of fiscal years 2020 and 2021, $1,000,000,000;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H74BC7E45C01F4C73B769608C6D4F4B5C"><enum>(6)</enum><text>for fiscal year 2022, $1,300,000,000; and</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph><paragraph id="H9B673B4195CA4A84B8B62C829E67E58C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in paragraph (7), as so redesignated, by striking <quote>2022</quote> and inserting <quote>2023</quote>.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
