R. 3671</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20131205">December 5, 2013</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="M001144">Mr. Miller of Florida</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HVR00">Committee on Veterans’ Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to expand the eligibility for a medallion furnished by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to signify the veteran status of a deceased individual.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HA190A6CCE5A448A4B555B7B4B8BEA53A" style="OLC"><section id="HBF41F7B2343A439EAD982D7C37136EA3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Expansion of eligibility for medallions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/2306">Section 2306(d)(4)</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following sentence: <quote>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary may furnish a medallion or other device under this paragraph regardless of the date of the death of the individual for whom the medallion or other device is furnished.</quote>.</text></section></legis-body></bill>
