R. 3480</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20131113">November 13, 2013</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="T000465">Ms. Tsongas</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HJU00">Committee on the Judiciary</committee-name>, and in addition to the Committee on <committee-name committee-id="HHA00">House Administration</committee-name>, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To prohibit entities from using Federal funds to contribute to political campaigns or participate in lobbying activities.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H455A4C8A9081485C9A97BD2AAAA0BDC8" style="OLC"><section id="H4556A5B349404FCF87A76772178A7EE3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>No Taxpayer Money for Corporate Campaigns Act of 2013</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H3F42C4CA62AC4E5DB1580116F86C5AED"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on the use of Federal funds for campaign and lobbying activities</header><subsection id="H598093F544AC49679F2520615E40BE2D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">With respect to Federal funds received by an entity, other than a natural person, it shall be unlawful for such entity to—</text><paragraph id="HF584A90C585246C2B409BC3B15F1C0AF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">use such funds to advocate the election or defeat of a political candidate;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H774010FE4E3B4584B3100733086164FC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>use such funds for voter registration activities or get-out-the-vote activities;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H24FB06EF1313476C9F78C390C310A40E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>use such funds to engage in any lobbying activity; or</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H91D929DAB14F48A384B7FD93E011CDE6"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">donate such funds to any entity that advocates for the election or defeat of a political candidate or engages in lobbying activities.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H10AF06ECD53547198818048995FBDB0A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception for activities authorized by law</header><text>Subsection (a) does not apply to the use of funds by an entity for an activity specifically authorized by Federal law, rule, or regulation.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
