<section id="HB89BE1678C314243992A0781FB800E04" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may cited as the <quote><short-title>Solar Villages Initiative Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="H2C6DCCFADA6B419398FA17D75C262CE4" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Microenterprise assistance for renewable energy projects in developing countries</header>
<subsection id="H074A40C5DCA646A0B885AD0ECB124758"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The President, acting through the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development and in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Energy, is authorized to provide assistance for renewable energy projects described in subsection (b) in developing countries to increase the availability of credit, savings, and other services to microfinance and microenterprise clients lacking full access to capital, training, technical assistance, and business development services.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HC66B4C5E899447C7897CB67141E6051F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Types of projects</header><text>The renewable energy projects described in this subsection include projects to assist small and micro businesses that loan or sell solar lanterns or lamps and other solar energy technologies.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HD8356A2571854657A35AC14C3FA2AAEA"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Priority</header><text>In providing assistance under subsection (a), the President shall give priority to empowering female-owned businesses in developing countries.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H55600F9E904540E088678A6452CEA1CD"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Relation to existing authorities</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Assistance provided under subsection (a) shall be made available under the authorities of section 252 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/22/2211a">22 U.S.C. 2211a</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H68ECA95D2DAC4F82ABA7F0C727EE30FC"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">There is authorized to be appropriated to the President to carry out this section $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2015, $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2016, $7,500,000 for fiscal year 2017, $7,500,000 for fiscal year 2018, $10,000,000 for fiscal year 2019, and $15,000,000 for fiscal year 2020.</text></subsection></section>
