R. 3126</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action><action-date date="20130918">September 18, 2013</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="F000458">Mr. Fincher</sponsor> introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HHA00">Committee on House Administration</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title>To amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to prohibit a government subsidy for the purchase of a health plan by a Member of Congress.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HD7A7BD82207C4420B22AAA18339E60ED" style="OLC"><section id="HFA1FF88AAE8740A6B783FE5965F6F8F5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Healthcare Fairness Act of 2013</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section commented="no" id="H48FD27FD3DC64B3382CE3BFAA2516882"><enum>2.</enum><header>No health care subsidies for Members of Congress</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1312(d)(3)(D) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/18032">42 U.S.C. 18032(d)(3)(D)</external-xref>) is amended—</text><paragraph commented="no" id="HA65E56F3D0204922B90CB5878D9FF9B9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating clause (ii) as clause (iii); and</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="H54F884118524423FBCB1A33DEE7A27F8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after clause (i) the following new clause:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9704187269B347E28D69D18E356A8C97" style="OLC"><clause commented="no" id="H766320BECC6645FAB6C3BA7A02325DC8"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>No premium assistance for Members of Congress</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of law or any regulation or guidance promulgated by the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, no Federal funds shall be expended to pay any portion of the premium for a health plan purchased by a Member of Congress pursuant to clause (i).</text></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
