		<official-title>To amend part E of title IV of the Social Security Act to
		  preserve the eligibility of a child for kinship guardianship assistance
		  payments when the guardian is replaced by a successor legal guardian named in
		  the kinship guardianship assistance agreement.</official-title>

		<section id="H886762B4E9BF4AAD8FA4D461C88287B2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Guardians for Children
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HFD61CCABADE047729C46F81F199823A9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Preservation of
			 eligibility for kinship guardianship assistance payments with a successor
			 guardian</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 473(d)(3) of
			 the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/673">42 U.S.C. 673(d)(3)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end
			 the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD94F8C9F807A4D6798176E74434F2723" style="OLC">
				<subparagraph id="H8E32FCB8FD1841D48A7015D2619A696A"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Eligibility not
				affected by replacement of guardian with a successor guardian</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the event of the death or incapacity of
				the relative guardian, the eligibility of a child for a kinship guardianship
				assistance payment under this subsection shall not be affected by reason of the
				replacement of the relative guardian with a successor legal guardian named in
				the kinship guardianship assistance agreement referred to in paragraph (1)
				(including in any amendment to the agreement), notwithstanding subparagraph (A)
				of this paragraph and section
				471(a)(28).</text>
