<official-title>To amend <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2423">section 2423</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, to eliminate a defense, to a criminal prosecution under that section, based on the state of mind of the defendant as to the age of the minor engaging in, or intended to engage in, a commercial sex act.</official-title>

<section id="H2C887D531A92447291EED94C0F397DB6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protect Children from Sex Tourism Act of 2013</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="H4CC11B8B165843978A33F6C43FA60C63" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Elimination of defense based on the defendant’s state of mind as to the age of the minor engaging in, or intended to engage in, a commercial sexual act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Subsection (g) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/18/2423">section 2423</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text>

<subsection id="H9A0056BCB6174EC58CB5BD05CC77C5F0"><enum>(g)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In a prosecution under this section based on illicit sexual conduct, as defined in subsection (f)(2), the Government need not prove that the defendant knew the minor engaging in, or intended to engage in, a commercial sex act had not attained the age of 18 years.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </section>
