<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to issue regulations covering the practice of enrolled agents before the Internal Revenue Service.</official-title>

<section id="H33EA886C386044409D9B443CEAF406CD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Enrolled agents</header>
<subsection id="H736382582C594ABAB9AD12F1AA6146F4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/26/77">Chapter 77</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by adding at the end the following new section:</text>

<section id="H27C73CF352A546F7936400FC30BF7019"><enum>7529.</enum><header>Enrolled agents</header>
<subsection id="H9D159D5E164241EEA76207E286D36242"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary may prescribe such regulations as may be necessary to regulate the conduct of enrolled agents in regards to their practice before the Internal Revenue Service.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H6BC2EA66D1024365AD5169F26B621D9F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Use of credentials</header><text>Any enrolled agents properly licensed to practice as required under rules promulgated under subsection (a) shall be allowed to use the credentials or designation as <quote>enrolled agent</quote>, <quote>EA</quote>, or <quote>E.A.</quote>.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection>
<subsection id="H4597A35D784C431AA679052CB821478A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of sections for chapter 77 of such Code is amended by adding at the end the following new item:</text>

<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H277C2F49241F499EA2F82443AF84F14A"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Prior regulations</header><text>Nothing in the amendments made by this section shall be construed to have any effect on part 10 of title 31, Code of Federal Regulations, or any other related Federal rule or regulation issued before the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
