			 a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for
			 consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the
			 committee concerned</action-desc>

		<legis-type>A BILL</legis-type>
		<official-title>To amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
		  to apply to Delegates and Resident Commissioners to the Congress, and to
		  employees of committees and leadership offices of Congress, the requirement of
		  such Act that the only health plans that the Federal Government may make
		  available to Members of Congress and congressional staff are plans created or
		  offered through an Exchange established under such Act.</official-title>

		<section id="H8B86D51CF597445292ACCEA381AF5C9C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Live by the Laws You Write
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H0F41FD57D9294CE38CCCAF7314395C07" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Treatment of
			 delegates, committee staff, and leadership office staff under patient
			 protection and affordable care act</header>
			<subsection id="HA4784FCB70AD4929B098D4CFEE887E25"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Application of
			 Same Requirements Applicable to Members and Employees of Member
			 Offices</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1312(d)(3)(D)
			 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/18032">42 U.S.C. 18032(d)(3)(D)</external-xref>) is
			 amended by striking clause (ii) and inserting the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFF7F7096EB6B4FEFA1BA1D1BB862A768" style="OLC">
					<clause id="H407DD215988B4C4CAF098D159076A66B"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>Treatment of
				delegates and resident commissioner</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this subparagraph, the term <term>Member
				of Congress</term> includes a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to the
				Congress.</text>
					</clause><clause id="H12C899DAF8CE40F3886AB92A399473F0"><enum>(iii)</enum><header>Congressional
				staff defined</header><text>In this subparagraph, the term <term>Congressional
				staff</term> means a full-time or part-time employee of any of the following
				offices:</text>
						<subclause id="H88698B5AF2A44D5389CE9C42095424E6"><enum>(I)</enum><text>The office of any
				Member of Congress.</text>
						</subclause><subclause id="H7BBA130B44C64D37BE36EF58BBF2771B"><enum>(II)</enum><text>The office of any
				standing, select, or joint committee of Congress.</text>
						</subclause><subclause id="HC8E2AF298B77446082143DB4E6EEC3F9"><enum>(III)</enum><text>An office of the
				House of Representatives for which the appropriation for salaries and expenses
				of the office for the year involved is provided under the heading <term>House
				Leadership Offices</term> in the Act making appropriations for the Legislative
				Branch for the fiscal year involved (in addition to any office of a Member of
				Congress referred to in subclause (I)).</text>
						</subclause><subclause id="HF12E7369D9AE4B4F963B67E72AFE3F92"><enum>(IV)</enum><text>The offices of
				the President pro tempore, Majority and Minority Leaders, Majority and Minority
				Whips, Conferences of the Majority and of the Minority, and Majority and
				Minority Policy Committees of the Senate (in addition to any office of a Member
				of Congress referred to in subclause
				(I)).</text>
						</subclause></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H813806E03008495784D34B518E098ED1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect as if
			 included in the enactment of subtitle D of title I of the Patient Protection
			 and Affordable Care Act.</text>
