		  Examiners-Adult/Adolescent to brigades and equivalent units of the Armed
		  Forces.</official-title>

		<section id="H49EBBF452A2A4AD6988FEB4B9F7A9FC3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
			 Deployment Act</short-title></quote> or <quote>SANE Deployment Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H55BD56B7C1DE42A69AC190657439FF12"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sexual Assault
			 Nurse Examiners-Adult/Adolescent</header>
			<subsection id="H8C186C613CC3410AAC11F6BF0EB456F3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Assignment to
			 certain military units</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 584 of the National Defense
			 Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/112/81">Public Law 112–81</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/10/1561">10 U.S.C. 1561</external-xref> note)
			 is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HE8644F4AF2C841928B904B9B13B8CDAF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subsections (c) and (d) as subsections (d) and (e), respectively; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H6F5418CC74FC4D438BF30970E9B5B36C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subsection (b) the following new subsection (c):</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD3B1E178C68347339CCE4908F257DA29" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="HB1386DC20FF24D53978AB413F90FB779"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Sexual Assault
				Nurse Examiners-Adult/Adolescent</header>
							<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDD26AAA6BA2D44FB9C38AC7139871779"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Assignment
				requirements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of
				each military department shall assign at least one Sexual Assault Nurse
				Examiner-Adult/Adolescent to each brigade or equivalent unit level of each
				armed force under the jurisdiction of that Secretary unless assignment to other
				units is determined to be more practicable and effective by the Secretary of
				Defense. The Secretary of the military department concerned may assign
				additional Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners-Adult/Adolescent as necessary based
				on the demographics or needs of a military unit. The Secretary of the military
				department concerned may waive the assignment requirement for a specific unit
				level if that Secretary determines that compliance will impose an undue burden,
				except that the Secretary shall notify Congress of each waiver and explain how
				compliance would impose an undue burden.</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H4EE75B05A69B4022879C299B4442BA22"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Eligible
				persons</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">On and after October
				1, 2015, only members of the armed forces and civilian employees of the
				Department of Defense may be assigned to duty as a Sexual Assault Nurse
				Examiner-Adult/Adolescent. The Secretary of the military department concerned
				may satisfy paragraph (1) through the assignment of additional personnel to a
				unit or by assigning the duties of a Sexual Assault Nurse
				Examiner-Adult/Adolescent to current personnel of the unit, so long as such
				personnel meet the training and certification requirements of subsection
				(d).</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HBE931F091B51441F9FB45D2BAAA5BF51"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Training and
			 certification</header><text>Subsection (d) of such section, as redesignated by
			 subsection (a)(1), is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HD0BFA9379DF641E19CC92095D1B69F44"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1),
			 by striking <quote>assigned under subsection (a) and Sexual Assault Victim
			 Advocates assigned under subsection (b)</quote> and inserting <quote>, Sexual
			 Assault Victim Advocates, and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners-Adult/Adolescent
			 assigned under this section</quote>;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HC1BD603EFCEC4B09852D6F46677EC0F9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (2),
			 by adding at the end the following new sentence: <quote>In the case of the
			 curriculum and other components of the program for certification of Sexual
			 Assault Nurse Examiners-Adult/Adolescent, the Secretary of Defense shall
			 consult with the Commission for Forensic Nursing Certification.</quote>;
			 and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H7038F2C5802B406A8C939944B3AF1590"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (3), by adding at the end the
			 following new sentence: <quote>On and after October 1, 2015, before a member or
			 civilian employee may be assigned to duty as a Sexual Assault Nurse
			 Examiner-Adult/Adolescent under subsection (c), the member or employee must
			 have completed the training program required by paragraph (1) and obtained the
			 certification.</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HAC5FA36756EE4583B5071E434A0D2F15"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text>The heading of such section is amended to read as
			 follows:</text>
