		<official-title>To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to extend
		  to physician assistants eligibility for Medicaid incentive payments for the
		  adoption and use of certified electronic health records, whether or not such
		  physician assistants practice at a rural health center or Federally qualified
		  health center.</official-title>

		<section id="H88E7BD68664F4BF181681AB28158419E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Health IT Modernization for
			 Underserved Communities Act of 2013</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HDE5CB2DA24954E799F7CB43BC368B1C9" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extending physician
			 assistant eligibility for Medicaid electronic health record incentive
			 payments</header>
			<subsection id="HAB54AF2A82DA4204827015F70324B3DF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 1903(t)(3)(B)(v) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1396b">42 U.S.C. 1396b(t)(3)(B)(v)</external-xref>) is
			 amended by striking <quote>insofar as the assistant is practicing in a rural
			 health clinic that is led by a physician assistant or is practicing in a
			 Federally qualified health center that is so led</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HA0A69254DDE149DB80DAD92D74561275"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with
			 respect to payments made for calendar quarters beginning on or after the date
			 of enactment of this Act.</text>
