		<official-title>To amend title 36, United States Code, to ensure that
		  memorials commemorating the service of the United States Armed Forces may
		  contain religious symbols, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H23FB79A0DA9B412C844DB2988A18FBBA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>War Memorial Protection
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HEB6BEA276126436284FEFB40774ADE31"><enum>2.</enum><header>Inclusion of
			 religious symbols as part of military memorials</header>
			<subsection id="HE0C7D712979540A98CF68ECA1A2D4006"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/36/21">Chapter 21</external-xref> of title 36, United States Code,
			 is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HDD8EB21344C741BA81FABE72A6E433BA" style="USC">
					<section id="H35BCA53A79234DAD8803DDA80A3F581D"><enum>2115.</enum><header>Inclusion of
				religious symbols as part of military memorials</header>
						<subsection id="H6E888D2FA4CB4CD48BFB2923A6452550"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Inclusion of
				religious symbols authorized</header><text>To recognize the religious
				background of members of the United States Armed Forces, religious symbols may
				be included as part of—</text>
							<paragraph id="H2392C264A70E4FF4ADA5101D16F60DB8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>a military
				memorial that is established or acquired by the United States Government;
				or</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H12707873898844D98D244870C7A5079B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>a military
				memorial that is not established by the United States Government, but for which
				the American Battle Monuments Commission cooperated in the establishment of the
				memorial.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H33E70456C5384D9DABC402993B184C2A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Military
				memorial defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this
				section, the term <quote>military memorial</quote> means a memorial or monument
				commemorating the service of the United States Armed Forces. The term includes
				works of architecture and art described in section 2105(b) of this
				title.</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="H4CE4F4E750EC44339CD318A5997DB2A0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical
			 amendment</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter
			 is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
