		  by 20 percent and prohibit further adjustments to such rates.</official-title>

		<section id="H3B55CD7DE1D748BABCB461AFF78192D5" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Pay Cut for Congress
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HBC066346CB654421AB62CF5F6C620617" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reduction in annual
			 rates of pay of members of Congress</header>
			<subsection id="H94D8E975932E4D7190243540AF16A827"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Rates of
			 pay</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 601(a)(1) of the
			 Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/31">2 U.S.C. 31(1)</external-xref>) is amended by striking
			 <quote>shall be the rate</quote> and all that follows and inserting the
			 following: <quote>shall be equal to the annual rate of pay for such positions
			 as of the date of the regularly scheduled general election for Federal office
			 held in November 2014, reduced by 20 percent.</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HF5A7B552E6B341D9895958A70D3C9BF6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text>Section 601(a) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/31">2 U.S.C. 31</external-xref>) is amended by
			 striking paragraph (2).</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H026FD26FFA9749489BF173487C2C5282"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by
			 this Act shall take effect on the first day of the first pay period which
			 begins after the date of the regularly scheduled general election for Federal
			 office held in November 2014.</text>
