- Abstract
- This study investigated the social effects associated with environmental change in the counties of Coos and Lincoln, Oregon. The communities of Coos Bay and Newport served as focal points for this case study. The report offers a short introduction to climate change in the region and a brief historical background to provide context. The findings are centered on stakeholder perceptions of environmental change and associated effects. These findings highlight various social, cultural and economic effects in four resource categories, including fisheries, forest resources, tourism and recreation, and coastal infrastructure. This research has practical utility as it offers baseline data and provides information to assess cumulative effects.
