Noting that parents play an important role in the school su,ccess of their elementary- and middle-school-aged children, this booklet offers research-based tips to provide both practical guidance and information about a range of education-related topics. Presented in a question-answer format in both English and Spanish versions, the booklet provides information on preparing children for school, understanding expectations for kindergarten students, monitoring school work, getting the most out of parent-teacher conferences, helping with reading, helping with homework, working with schools and teachers, and creating safe and drug-free schools. Information is also presented on the reforms of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
